Welcome back to my night time musings. As promised, here is part 2 of my root canal experience.
I was nervous about my procedure and forgot to pack my cosy socks. Argh! The last thing I wanted was cold feet when I was already vulnerable. I told my dentist and she gave me the COSIEST blanket ever. Not only did my feet feel cosy and warm, now I had a weighted blanket to help me relax. Promising, promising.

My dentist then explained that she’d use two cartridges (of pain relief), and if I needed more, then I just had to raise my hand. It took three cartridges for me to feel completely numb. She apologised for the sound and vibration of the drill. I remember feeling slightly freaked out by the hot smell of dissolving bone, but that faded quickly. (Also I thought OOH now I know what dissolving bone smells like! *squirrels factoid away for future writing*) Once she made enough holes, she very gently and slowly used small tools to removed my nerves which were all inflamed. That explained the throbbing daily pain that made it so hard for me to function.
